Champion Homes coordinates supplier matching in China for prefabricated residential houses. We record the same requirements for competing offers, request a traceable sample and coordinate agreed inspection checkpoints. Suppliers issue their manufacturing evidence. The buyer’s engineering team verifies project-specific compliance.
Before quotation comparison, split the project into factory completion, transport and destination work. Each line should name the responsible party and the drawing revision. This keeps a low shell price from obscuring bathroom completion, crane work or a different panel build-up.
Read the left column as the question a buyer should answer. Read the right column as the artifact Champion Homes returns. Artifacts are project files. They are not a blanket permit.
| Design loads | Wind speed, ground snow load and seismic design category written on revision A. Example placeholders used when the site is unknown: 45 m/s, 1.5 kN/m², 0.30 g. The local code replaces them. |
|---|---|
| Steel and coating | Cold-formed steel (CFS) studs, light-gauge steel (LGS) tracks, and Q355 / S355 where a hot-rolled member is required. Galvanized coating mass Z275 on CFS, with a note that cut edges and weld zones need repair. |
| Envelope | Wall panel thickness 50–100 mm. Core choice among EPS sandwich panel, PIR sandwich panel and rock wool sandwich panel, with a separate line for thermal bridge at studs. Target thermal transmittance sits in the 0.25–0.60 W/m²·K band until the energy code is named. |
| Fire strategy | Panel core data plus joint, door and floor conditions. A panel test minute value, such as a 60 min assembly reference, is not copied onto the whole house. Intumescent coating is listed where the steel specification calls for it. |
| MEP preinstallation | Wet-area modules can leave with piping and electrical whip ends. Dry panel packs usually ship without site-pulled circuits. The split is marked so the site crew does not assume a finished bathroom in a knock-down crate. |
| Packing and lift | Container loading quantity, trailer count, lifting point IDs and foundation interface bolts. Flat-pack residential panels may target 4–8 wall sets per 40HQ. A finished volumetric room is often one unit per flat rack. The number is recalculated per plan. |
| What is outside the fee | Local permit submissions, soil investigations and utility approvals sit with the buyer’s local project team unless separately contracted. Suppliers must identify the documents their proposed house can provide. The applicable authority decides acceptance. |
Compare certifications against the issuing organization, scope and validity date. A management system certificate can inform supplier screening. Structural performance requires the project-specific evidence named by the local design team.
The coordinator records use, country, quantity, plan size, storeys, wind load, snow load, seismic input, interior scope, deadline and destination port. A three-bedroom plan at 1300 square feet is still incomplete if the snow load cell is empty. Permanent modular construction (PMC) and relocatable building (RB) classifications are chosen here, because a relocatable label does not waive the local code.
Ask the supplier and inspector to agree dimensions, diagonal measurements and opening positions before the sample review. The inspection record should identify the measuring method, drawing revision and disposition of exceptions. Apply any specified tolerance against the approved drawing.
Request a comparison between welded volumetric rooms and bolted panel packs. Separate container or flat-rack positions, site assembly hours and crane access. The supplier supplies the packing dimensions and the freight forwarder checks them against the route.
The site pack lists pick order, temporary bracing, bolt tension method and the foundation interface. It does not include a soil bearing value invented in the factory. If the pier layout changed after shipment, the sequence is reissued against the new survey. That reissue is a documented change, dated, and it can move the delivery week.
For price comparison, separate shells, furnished rooms, packing and delivery. A floor-plan drawing should show module breaks and wet-wall positions so suppliers quote the same assembly. Keep local engineering and installation allowances visible in the comparison.
Use the same three-step brief as the dialog. Country and loads sit in steps two and three. A reply without those fields is a question list, not a quotation.
